The authoritative information sources regarding recent reports of small and large localized Harmful Algal Blooms (HABS) on Skaneateles Lake are listed below. Please refer to these websites for the more information.

 

The Town of Skaneateles draws water through the Village of Skaneateles from the City of Syracuse Water Department who along with the Department of Health monitors the public drinking water for the presence of toxins associated with HABs. None have been detected.

If conditions in the municipal drinking water supply warrant a public health advisory, one will be issued by the Onondaga County Health Department. Their website addresses recommended precautions and actions for people and pets during possible blooms.
